Camberley Care Trust provides elderly, disabled and vulnerable members of the community with the practical help they need to live safely and independently in their own homes for as long as possible via its volunteer car service.
A charitable organisation, powered by volunteers and run by a Board of volunteer Trustees, we have been caring for and providing help to residents in Camberley and Frimley for more than 40 years.
Why Volunteer?
Camberley Care is a charitable organisation powered by volunteers who have established a reputation for providing a high standard of service to elderly, disabled and vulnerable members of our community.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation. They often speak of the sense of satisfaction that their volunteering brings, seeing how their work directly contributes towards improving the well-being of others and the communities they live in.
Success breeds success and there is an increasing demand for our services meaning that we are always looking for more people who can volunteer some time, even if only one hour each week to help deliver our charitable service.
Our volunteers gain much satisfaction from knowing that whatever their individual role, they are contributing to the overall success of Camberley Care and ultimately helping the elderly, disabled and vulnerable stay safe and enjoy independent living at home.
Volunteer drivers, who are all Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) cleared before working for us, are entitled to reimbursement of out of pocket expenses, as detailed in our volunteer policy and agreements.
If you are able to volunteer a little of your time each week to support Camberley Care’s work, or know of a family member or friend who may be able to do so, please contact our office team for further information.
Our Commitment
Camberley Care values the commitment and contribution of every volunteer and recognises the need to work in partnership to ensure we achieve the best outcomes, in the most effective way.
We work together with our volunteers adopting a one-team approach and trust each other to deliver. We listen to our volunteers and involve them in developing our services
In providing our service to support independent living for local elderly, disabled and vulnerable members of the community, volunteers will be tasked with duties which give due consideration for personal preference.
We will adequately brief our volunteers about the requirements and expectations for all jobs, with the objective of doing so ahead of job allocation.
Our Expectations
Volunteers are critical to the ongoing success of Camberley Care.
We put our clients’ needs at the heart of everything we do and, for this reason, ask that our team of volunteers commits to delivering the following service level agreement:
- Putting people first and treating clients the way we would like our own loved ones to be treated
- Acting with integrity and showing pride in everything we do
- Being prompt and reliable in reporting for scheduled work
- Carrying out assignments in good spirit
- Keeping accurate and honest records of trips made and work undertaken
- Communicating in advance of any change to personal circumstances
